Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a function organized by Purani Mandi Mandir Management in connection with completion of annual Amarnath yatra, Dr Jitendra Singh said that the rising unrest and protests in Pakistan occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) should be an eye-opener for these leaders.
He said people of PoJK want to be liberated from the clutches of Pakistan as they are fed up with the atrocities committed on them since last 70 years by the Pakistani rulers. Being the part of J&K which has acceded to India in 1947 after the Maharaja signed the instrument of accession with the Indian Government, he said the portion of the State was forcibly annexed by Pakistan and India is committed by joint Parliamentary resolution of 1994 to retrieve that portion of the State.
The Union Minister said that the people of the State especially youth who represent the 60 percent of the country’s population will no longer be trapped in the false propaganda launched by these leaders now as they have over the years seen through their game plan and want to become the part of Prime Minister Narenda Modi’s New India.
Dr Jitendra Singh, while maintaining that BJP will not make any compromise on its ideology for which Dr Shayama Prasad Mookerjee and Deendayal Upadayay laid down their lives, said Party will never deviate from the path of its founding fathers just for the sake of power.
He asserted that the war launched by Modi Government against the terrorism will be taken to the logical conclusion within the State and across the borders. He said never in past such a drastic action has been taken by any Government against the terrorism and its heat has been even felt across the border also. “Modi Government has launched a decisive war against the terrorism and it is committed to take it to the logical conclusion now’’, he added.
The Union Minister said the terrorists in Kashmir are now terrified and they are on run. “This is an issue of debate now,” he added.
While referring to coming elections, he said that definitely the youth of the State will be with BJP on the same pattern as the youth in other parts of the country sided with the party in recently held elections in some States.
He assured the people that BJP will neither make nor has made any compromise on its ideology till date and took a dig at the separatist leaders of Kashmir asking them that what model of freedom struggle they were following. They have send their own children in search of green pastures outside the State and some managed good posts in Government for them while lured the poor children to take to arms and get killed.
He said to give practical shape to its resolve of weeding out terrorism, eradicating corruption, poverty, casteism and communalism the Modi Government which celebrated the 75 years of Quit India Movement and 70 years of India’s Freedom this year has given call for Bharat Judo on the same pattern as Mahatma Gandhi gave call for Quit India Movement in 1942 and which resulted into sequence of events that led to India’s independence on August 15 in 1947.
Highlighting the role of Jammuites, he said Jammu is the land of action and sacrifices as it has been a guiding force in all the national movements. Dr Jitendra Singh said the role played in the Amarnath land row agitation by the people of this region was remarkable and they shacked those who created the land row issue.
He said that such has been the impact of the land row agitation that now “our opponents are warning on Article 35-A Abrogation that if this was done then Amarnath pattern agitation will be launched.”
Dr Jitendra Singh, however, expressed the hope that the people will not fall in the trap of false propaganda of the opposition parties who are raking up the issue of Article 35 -A in sheer desperation of losing the power as they will never succeed in dislodging the present coalition in the State.
He urged the coalition to concentrate on good governance and solving the main problems of people by ensuring proper power and water supply, concentrating on development and completion of projects in a time bound manner.
Dr Jitendra Singh acknowledged that there are ideological differences between the two ruling parties, BJP and PDP, but said that the common pledge was not to get distracted by these ideological differences and instead to fully focus on providing to State of Jammu & Kashmir the benefits of Modi Government’s enormous new progressive schemes which the other States are availing of and which are particularly aimed at providing future avenues to the youth.
Dr Jitendra Singh said, the Central Government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to give equitable attention to all the three regions of Jammu,Ladakh and Kashmir, and it is up to us to make the best use of this opportunity. He said, the youth in all the three regions are ready to move ahead, unaffected by the inconsequential controversies raked up by political parties.
While citing the example of Andhara Pradesh Chief Minster, Chander Babu Naidu whom no body wanted to be CM after he assumed power for the first time in eighties, he said Naidu has now emerged as a popular leader of the State by pursuing the developmental agenda.
Addressing the gathering, Minister of State for Education, Tourism and Culture Priya Sethi highlighted the role of Tourism Department in bettering the facilities for Amarnath pilgrims this year. She said Department took all steps for improving and providing the best possible facilities to yatris at Jammu Yatri Niwas and other places.
She said this has send a good message across the country among the pilgrims and the Department will further improve the arrangements for the pilgrims so that the number of yatris may increase. She also highlighted the good role played by the State administration and coordination shown by various departments in smooth conduct of yatra.
