Modi reaches Australia for G-20 Summit

BRISBANE :  Prime Minister Narendra Modi today  arrived here to participate in the G-20 Summit on his second  leg of 10-day three-nation tour that will also take him to  Fiji while returning home.
Mr Modi will hold his first bilateral talks with British  Prime Minister David Cameron to discuss a wide range of issues  of mutual interest.
Mr Cameron was one of the first world leaders to congratulate Mr Modi on his victory in the general elections.     Mr Modi reached here after wrapping up a successful trip to Myanmar where he attended the 12th India-ASEAN Summit and  the 9th East Asian Summit.
In Myanmar, he had held at least ten bilateral meetings  with the heads of government apart from meeting President of Myanmar Thein Sein, the host of these two crucial regional conventions.
In Australia too, Mr Modi is set to meet a galaxy of world leaders on the sidelines of the meeting.     He would be attending a structured delegation level talks  with his Australian counterpart Tony Abbott in Canberra.     During his stay in Australia, Mr Modi would be visiting four cities in as many days and address three public gatherings of the people of Indian origin residing here.     A grand reception being hosted by  Mr Abbot awaits Mr Modi in Melbourne Cricket Stadium awaits. Select gathering of about 500 guest will have a chance to listen to Mr Modi in this event.   (UNI)
