Mohan Bagan scripts 4-0 victory JK XI

SRINAGAR, Sept 8: A large number of spectators enjoyed every moment of an exciting goodwill football match between high profile Mohan Bagan, Kolkata and JK-XI, organized by the J&K State Sports Council in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) at Bakshi Stadium, here today.
Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs and Rural Development, Ali Mohd Sagar was the chief guest on the occasion, while RS Chib, Minister for Medical Education, Technical Education and Youth Services and Sports and Nasir Aslam Wani, Minister of State for Home were the guests of honour. These dignitaries distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up teams on the occasion.
Earlier, Mohan Bagan drubbed JK-XI by four goals to nil (4-0), despite good moves made by the JK footballers in both the halves. Mohan Bagan was leading by one goal in the first half, increased their lead by another three goals in the second half to register a (4-0) win. J&K’s ace footballer Mehraj-ud-Din Wadoo, representing Mohan Bagan displayed some superb soccer skills coupled with motor-ability and anticipation to play a pivotal role in the win.
A huge crowd of over 5000 spectators witnessed the match amidst foolproof security, medical and allied arrangements made by the organizers and enjoyed every bit of the match. What was amusing to see was that the crowd showed the sportsman spirit by supporting and clapped the visitors for their outstanding performance.
Now, the second match between the two teams is scheduled to be played on September 11 at Jammu.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Baseer Ahmed Khan, DDC Srinagar, Jaipal Singh, Director Youth Services and Sports, Dalip Thussu, Secretary J&K State Sports Council, Ranjeet Kalra, member BCCI etc.
