Mohsin Gilkar is Mr J&K

SRINAGAR, Oct 21: Mohsin Gilkar of Khanyar in Srinagar while competing in Under-85 kg weight category clinched Venkey’s Mr J&K title 2013 and bagged the grand prize of Motor Bike in first ever State Body Building Championship in Kashmir Province organized by District Srinagar Body Building Association under the aegis of All J&K Amateur Body Building Association (ABBA) at  Sher-e-Kashmir Indoor Stadium, here.
This is for the first time that a Mr J & K has been awarded a Motor bike for winning the title.
Over 150 body builders from across the State participated in the two day long championship under nine categories. The body builders put up a spectacular muscle show in the Jam packed stadium. A large crowd of spectators had gathered to cheer up their favorite body builders.
Minister of Youth Services and Sports Taj Mohi-ud-Din was the chief guest on the closing ceremony, who distributed prizes among the best body builders of the competition.
Javid Ahmad of Jammu, competing in Under-70 kg weight category received a cash prize of Rs 5000 for being runner-up in the event.
Speaking at the event Mr Taj said that he felt very happy to see the youth with such healthy bodies and assured full support to All J&K Amateur Body Building Association and upcoming Body Builders of the State in future events.
Additional Director Police Armed, J&K, SM Sahai , who is also the president of All J&K Amateur Body Building Association (ABBA) while inaugurating the event urged youth to come forward in this all-weather sport and said that the association will provide all possible help for the revival of Sports in the  State, particularly in Kashmir province. “We aim to boost sports culture in the State and provide platforms to the youth in order to enable them to show cause their talent”, he added.
In 55 kg weight category, Salman Rafiq claimed first place, while in 60 kg category first position was bagged by Mohammad Yasin. The other winners included Muzaffar 65 kg weight category, Javed 70 kg category, Waseem 75 kg category, Vikas Thaper 80 kg category and Bilal Ahmad Rah in 90 kg weight category.
Narinder Singh, the reputed body builder of Punjab who made India proud by securing first ever gold medal in World Police Games at England was specially invited as guest poser by the Association to boost the morale of the State body builders.
The event was sponsored by J&K State Sports Council, J&K Police, Baba Reshi Transport, Venkeys Foods and Supplements Pune, TCI Cement, Makeover Saloon Karan Nagar and Pick and Choose Store.
