Chandigarh, Mar 17:Monika Malab of Kota University (Rajasthan) lifted gold medal in the under-48 kg class by defeating Manal of Punjabi University of Patiala in the final bout on the second day of All India Inter University Judo Championship for Women being organised by Panjab University at Gymnasium Hall here today.
Rajeshwari Chanu of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar outpointed Varsha Roy of Panjab University, Chandigarh in the under-52 kg category final for the gold medal.
Panjab University added one more gold medal to their kitty through Garima Chaudhary defeated Sarah Majid of Mumbai University, Mumbai in 72 kg category final. Yesterday, Panjab University had claimed all three gold medals at stake. Results:
Under-48 kg: 1 Monika Malab (Kota University, Kota (Raj.), 2 Manal (Punjabi University, Patiala), 3 Rimple (Ch. Devi. Lal University, Sirsa) and Nippu Jamwal (Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar).
Under 52 kg: 1 Rajeshwari Chanu (Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar), 2 Varsha Roy (Panjab University, Chandigarh), 3 Neha (Delhi University, Delhi) and Ankita (Ch. Devi. Lal University, Sirsa).
Under-70 kg: 1 Garima Chaudhary (Panjab University, Chandigarh), 2 Sarah Majid ( Mumbai University, Mumbai), 3 Ramandeep (Ch. Devi. Lal University, Sirsa) and Ranjeeta (Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar). (UNI)
