Monsoon Karate Championship concludes

JAMMU, Aug 13: Monsoon Karate Championship, organized by Shito Ryu Seiko Kai Karate-Do Association, J&K concluded today, in which over 50 students from different schools took part.
During the championship, the bouts in sub junior, cadet, junior and senior categories were conducted.
On the valedictory function, State President BJP and MLA Jammu West Sat Sharma was the chief guest, while Mahatma Tilak Ji was the guest of honour.
The tournament was conducted under the technical supervision of Ambedkar Gupta, Indian Karate team coach and President, Shito Ryu Seiko Kai Karate-Do Association, J&K.
The gold medal winners in various categories were Akarshit Verma, Sumit Mehra, Tejasvi Dogra, Suryansh, Abhimanyu Singh, Harshita Singh, Arvind and Harshvardhan. The silver medal winners in various categories were Aadesh Sharma, Hardik Sharma, Divyani, Sahil Kumar, Yuvraj Singh, Prisha and Ansh. The bronze medal winners were Ujwal Sharma, Vaibhav Jamwal, Saranshi, Danish Salgotra, Suryansh Manhas and Akashra.
While speaking, Sat Sharma emphasized the importance of karate as sports as it inculcates discipline and self confidence among the players. He also appealed to the parents to encourage the females for these sports as it can be also beneficial to them for their self-defence.
Mahatma Tilak expressed that the players should be encouraged to outshine at national as well as international levels.
Later, the medal winners were awarded by Sat Sharma and others.
Tarun Sharma, Founder and President of Tarun Sharma Martial Art Academy and Nat Manch also encouraged the players who participated in this competition.
The bouts were officiated by Komal Gupta, Ranjeet Singh, Ishan Mansotra, Mohit Sharma, Ankit Verma, Kunal Verma, Mohit Kumar and Manjoot Singh.
In the end, the vote of thanks was presented by Tarun Sharma.
