JAMMU, Jan 28: The reports about celebrations of 67th Republic Day continued pouring today also with various Government departments, social organizations and educational institutions organizing various programmes in this connection.
Income Tax Department celebrated 67th Republic Day in all its offices functioning in the State. Sangeet Gupta, Principal Commissioner, Income Tax, Jammu, unfurled the National Flag at Aayakar Bhawan, Jammu and a function was organized at Income Tax Officers’ Residential Colony. The spectators were moved by the march past and cultural activities by the students of St Peter School.
The Department of Information and Public Relations organized an impressive cultural show in collaboration with Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar here today as part of Republic Day celebrations. Director General, Information and Public Relations, Zaffar Ahmad Bhat was the chief guest while Principal, GCW, Gandhi Nagar, Prof (Dr) Kiran Bakshi, was the guest of honour. The students of GCW Gandhi Nagar, Heritage School Jammu, Model Institute of Education and Research Jammu and CRPF presented various cultural items and left the spectators spellbound.
Republic Day was celebrated at Civil Airport Jammu with fervor. Along with the staff of Airports Authority of India, all the Airlines, JKP and CRP personnel also participated in the celebration. The National Flag was hoisted by the Airport Director, Devendra Kumar Gautam. The function culminated after presentations by Ravinder Kumar, Manager AAI and Usha Kher, Inspector JKP.
Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam Welfare Society (VKWS) celebrated Republic Day by organizing a function at its Primary School in Trikuta Nagar. The function started with the unfurling of National Flag by Dr Pawan Kotwal, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu. Working president, VKWS, Ruby Sharma and vice president, Kailash Gupta, were present on the occasion. The students of different schools run by VKWS presented various cultural items including dance, poetry and songs.
In connection with celebration of Republic Day, All J&K Pensioners’ Association, Jammu and civil society organized a function in which chief guest, ID Soni, State Commissioner, Bharat Scouts and Guides, unfurled the National Flag. Many speakers highlighted the importance of the Republic Day. The function culminated with National Anthem recited by students of Popular Model Academy High School, Nanak Nagar.
Dogra Saddar Sabha (DSS), Udhampur organized a grand function to celebrate 67th Republic Day. District president, DSS, Udhampur, Krishan Kumar, hoisted the National Flag. Arvind Singh Manhas, Ashok Gupta, Manik Saha and Rakesh Gupta along with other members were present on the occasion.
Trust Naive Heeds, Udhampur celebrated 67th Republic Day with great enthusiasm. Chairman, KK Sharma, unfurled the National Flag in the presence of other prominent members of the trust which include Pritam Singh, Pawan Sharma and Sanjeev Sharma.
Bimber Gali Brigade celebrated 67th Republic Day at all Army Goodwill Schools and also at other schools of the border villages close to the LoC. The Tricolour was unfurled by Commander Bimber Gali Brigade at PWS Sabra and Hamirpur. The event was also marked with cultural shows by the motivated students and teachers. The ‘Gatka’ performance at PWS Sabra held everyone in awe and amazement.
A function in connection with Republic Day also held at Durga Nagar, Jammu, where chief guest, Sheel Handoo, BJP Mahila Morcha leader, unfurled the National Flag followed by singing of National Anthem by the local people present on the occasion.
In Trikuta Nagar locality, Senior BJP leader, Vikram Randhawa hoisted the Tricolour in the presence of a large gathering and prominent people of the area. The children presented on the occasion sang patriotic songs. Later, sweets were distributed among the children.
Dream Land Public School Udhampur celebrated the Republic Day with patriotic fervor in its premises. Chairman of the school, Om Parkash Sadotra, unfurled the National Flag. In his address, the chief guest advised to the students to work hard to achieve the desired goal. On the occasion, school children also presented a cultural programme.
The Republic Day was also celebrated in Dream Land Public School Sial Jattan, Udhampur, where Siddheshwar Sadotra, Principal of the school, unfurled the National Flag. It was followed by national Anthem and cultural programme by the students.
To celebrate Republic Day, a function was also organized in the premises of Government Boys Higher Secondary School (GBHSS), Gandhi Nagar. Principal, Taira Parveen unfurled the National Flag while students and staff members presented cultural activities. The function ended with distribution of sweets.
Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Jullaka Mohalla, Jammu celebrated 67th Republic Day by organizing a function wherein a large number of students, teachers and locals participated. Razia Chaudhary, Principal of the Institute, unfurled the Tricolor. The program concluded with distribution of sweets.
The Republic Day was also celebrated in the premises of GHSS Marh. Chief guest, SDM Marh, Hitesh Gupta, hoisted the Tricolour. It was followed by National Anthem. The students presented march past and gave Guard of Honour to the chief guest. Thereafter, students presented colourful cultural items. In the end, prize distribution function was held.
Republic Day was celebrated with patriotic fervor at GHSS Khoon, where Principal, DP Sharma hoisted the National Flag. Noted social worker and DAHWA chief, Surat Singh Sumbria, presided over the function. Sarpanches and Panches of the area were also present. Meritorious students were given mementoes for encouragement.
The Republic Day celebrations were also held in GHSS Chowki Choura. SDM Chowki Choura, Jagdish Singh hoisted the National Flag and took salute from J&K police contingents, Besides, songs and dances, plays on social themes like ‘Family Planning’ and ‘Swachh Bharat’ were also staged. A special tribute was paid to the martyrs of Indian Army through the patriotic song ‘Kar Chale Hum Fida Jaan Aur Tan Sathio’.
GHSS Barolla (Udhampur) celebrated the 67th Republic Day with great enthusiasm. Neighbouring schools like GMS Barolla, New Modern High School, Barolla and Indira Shishu Mandir, Balnagar also participated in the celebrations. The Tricolour was hoisted by chief guest, Des Raj (Retd Master). This was followed by National Anthem, march past and presentation of cultural items by the students.
On Republic Day, Flag Hoisting ceremony was held at Government Girls High School (GGHS), Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu. A colourful programme was also held thereafter. The celebration concluded with National Anthem and distribution of sweets among the participants.
GGHS Sattani, Udhampur celebrated Republic Day with great zeal in its premises. Headmaster, Mridula Sharma was the chief guest. Local Sarpanch, Panches and VEC members of school were also present. The programme started by unfluring the National Flag and reciting National Anthem. The school students also presented a cultural bonaza.
The Republic Day was also celebrated by Government High School, Sagoon, Jammu, where Tricolour was hoisted by Nambardar, Dittu Ram, Sarpanch, Gian Chand Sumbriya, Chairman, Panchayat, Halqa, Sagoon, Mohd Aslam and Principal, Kuldeep Raj Sharma. On the occasion, school students presented various cultural items.
Calliope School, Doomi celebrated 67th Republic Day with great zeal and patriotic fervor. A function in connection with Republic Day was organized in the school premises, where school Principal, Kiran Raina, unfurled the Tricolour and took salute at the ceremonial march past. It was followed by presentation of cultural items.
A function in connection with Republic Day was also organized at Guru Teg Bahadur Public School, Lakhanpur, Kathua. The programme started with hoisting of Tricolour. The students sang National Anthem and various patriotic songs. In the end, sweets were distributed among the participants.
Management Committee of Badri Nath Shiv Mandir, Prem Nagar, New Plot (Jammu) celebrated Republic Day with great enthusiasm. The National Flag was hoisted on the occasion amidst the chanting of National Anthem. Purshotam Abrol, president of the committee, Kapil Singh Wazir, chairman and Bharat Bhushan, vice-president, were also present on the occasion.
