JAMMU, Aug 17: More celebrations poured in over 69th Independence Day.
Central University of Jammu organized National Flag hoisting ceremony at TAB and Bagla (Rahya-Suchani). Vice-Chancellor Prof Ashok Aima addressed the academic fraternity, non-teaching member and students of the University. The focus was laid on the accountability and responsibility of each individual which is much needed for the growth of the University. Registrar Jit Singh, Academic Coordinator Prof Lokesh Verma, Deans, HoDs, faculty members, non-teaching staff and students were present on the occasion.
Little Flower Higher Secondary School organized patriotic song competition on the eve of Independence Day. Students presented various songs depicting patriotism.
Independence Day was celebrated at Unique Public Higher Secondary School, Parwah, Marh. Chairman of the institution hoisted the National Flag, followed by patriotic songs by students. Principal, teachers and students spoke on the importance of the day. Prizes were distributed among best speakers.
JK Montessorie British School celebrated 69th Independence Day. Inter-class patriotic group song competition was organized, in which more than three hundred students participated. Students were dressed up as freedom fighters. Students presented a unique dramatization of the struggle for independence of India from the Britishers. Sanjeev Gupta, Managing Director of the school, Rajni Gupta, Director Academics and Geeta Dixit, Vice Principal expressed their views on the importance of the day.
69th Independence Day was celebrated at Government Higher Secondary School, Bhaddu. Naib Sarpanch, Panchayat Bhaddu, Durga Dass Slaria unfurled the National Flag and also addressed the students. A cultural programme was presented by the students. Principal Narinder Singh was also present on the occasion.
On the eve of Independence Day, a function was organized at Government Higher Secondary School, Dandal, wherein Tehsildar Snober Jameel hoisted the National Flag. Naib Tehsildars of Jhajjar Kotli and Jandrah, officers of various departments, members of PRIs, Principal Vijay Kumar Sharma, staff members and students were also present. Cultural items and patriotic songs were presented by the students.
Government Higher Secondary School, Durang celebrated Independence Day. Sarpanch Varinder Singh unfurled the National Flag in presence of NCC Officer Mulkh Rah Sharma, Principal Kuldeep Kumar Gupta, staff members and students.
Government Higher Secondary School, Paloura celebrated Independence Day. The National Flag was hoisted by Principal of the institution Harbans Lal in presence of staff members and students. Cultural items were presented by the children. Consolation prizes were also distributed among the participants.
Independence Day was celebrated at Government Higher Secondary School, Shajroo, Mahore, district Reasi, wherein Principal of the institution Ashok Kumar Dogra hoisted the National Flag, followed by salute to the National Flag by squad of different schools. Students of GHSS Shajroo and UPS Kundai presented cultural items. Prizes were distributed among outstanding performance of troops and songs. Financial help was also extended to orphan girls and boys.
69th Independence Day was celebrated at Government High School, Kangrail, Zone Bhalwal. The flag hoisting ceremony was attended by Headmaster Chain Singh, members of Panchayat Kangrail, staff members and students.
Government Middle School, Basaani, Zone Tikri, District Udhampur celebrated Independence Day. Sarpanch, Mand West Tikri, Surjeet Singh Jamwal unfurled the National Flag in presence of Headmaster and staff members. Students presented colourful cultural programme.
Independence Day was celebrated in the premises of Red Cross Bhawan, Kachi Chawni, Jammu. Veteran Red Crosser and Social Worker Jugal Mahajan hoisted the National Flag in presence of RC Puri, Secretary, IRCS, Jammu Region, Suresh Sharma, Executice Secretary, IRCS, District Jammu branch, Dinesh Gupta, OP Gupta, R Vijay Magotra and many other prominent persons. Students and teachers of various institutions were also presented on the occasion.
Greater Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha celebrated Independence Day in Justice Mehar Chand Mahajan Park at Gandhi Nagar. Er SP Langer, President of the Sabha unfurled the National Flag and threw light on the importance of the day. Cultural programme was also presented by the school children. The function was coordinated by Nitish Mahajan, eminent social workers and former member, railway advisory board. The function was also attended by Jugal Mahajan, Varinder Gupta, Vinod Mahajan, Advocate RK Mahajan and other office bearers.
Independence Day was celebrated by NHPC at its Regional Office, Jammu. A large number of employees and CISF personnel participated. On the occasion, Yoginder Kotha, Chief Engineer hoisted the tricolor.
To mark the celebration of Independence Day week, HDFC Bank Doda organized a painting competition at different schools of Doda town. In the painting competition, scores of students from Green Model Higher Secondary School, AIER Public School and Iqra Model Academy Doda participated. Speaking on the occasion, Branch Manager HDFC Bank Rajesh Parihar explained the students about the importance of the day. Later on Branch Manger Rajesh Parihar along with other officials of HDFC including Shahid Hameed, PB Sales, Anjum Hussain, BSO and Rajid Ali Wani, BDR Credit Cards distributed the prizes among all the participants.
On the eve of Independence Day, a function was held in the office of Chamber of Traders Federation (CTF), wherein the National Flag was unfurled by President of the Federation Yashpaul Gupta in presence of office bearers and senior members of the CTF.
Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) celebrated 69th Independence Day. ML Dogra, Former Regional Director, Song and Drama Division, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India unfurled the National Flag in presence of VK Magotra, Former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, Dr Tara Singh Charak, Former Deputy Director, Health Department, RP Amla, Former Field Publicity Assistant of Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, Dr Anju Dogra from Health Department J&K and Romesh Chander, Event Director. The patriotic items specially designed by the artists were presented on the occasion.
On the eve of Independence Day, the National Flag was hoisted at Gole Ghar, Mubarak Mandi Complex. Large number of residents of Mubarak Mandi participated in the function. Vikramjeet and Rakesh, who caught alive LeT militant recently along with Rohan Sharma, Karan Goswami, Parmod Gupta, Sanjay Sharma, Raman Bali and Pankul Abrol also participated in the function.
Channi Himmat Welfare Committee, Sector 3 organised Independence Function, in which large number of people took part. President of the committee RC Sharma unfurled the National Flag. The function was presided over by prominent social activist BB Suri. Students of the area presented cultural items including patriotic songs. Prizes were also distributed among the participants.
Trikuta Nagar Welfare Society, Khow Wali Lane celebrated Independence Day at Mandir Chowk, Sector No 1 Extension, Ward Number 53, wherein large number of people participated. Nitish Mahajan, President of the society unfurled the National Flag and threw light on the importance of the day. The function was also attended by Jagmohan Gupta, Vinod Mahajan, Amardeep Singh, Baldev Sharma, Paras Ram Srangle, etc.
Jammu Welfare Organization celebrated Independence Day at Dr Chowdhary Lane, besides Dhonthli Bazar and Purani Mandi areas. The National Flag was hoisted by president of the Organization Kasturi Lal Gupta in presence of office bearers of the Organization and large number of people.
Durga Development Committee, Durga Nagar celebrated Independence Day. Chairman of the committee PL Sudeshi unfurled the National Flag in presence of large number of people.
Zonal Education Officer, Pouni, Gopal Sharma organised two days “Art Integrated Learning” workshop on the theme “Mera Bharat Mahaan” on the occasion of Independence Day in the premises of Government Primary School Gungus, Zone Pouni, district Reasi. Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, CRP and Master trainer of AIL was the resource person who informed that the main aim of organising AIL event. Students participated actively in flag making, cap making, puppet making and rangoli making activities. The National Flag was hoisted on the occasion, followed by colourful cultural programme by the students and locals. Anwar Hussain Choudhary, ZEPO Pouni was also present.
Independence Day was celebrated at District Jail Jammu, wherein Superintendent of the Jail Harish Kotwal hoisted the National Flag and threw light on the importance of the day. A cultural programme was also presented by Jail staff and prisoners. The programme was also witnessed by CRPF officers, Jail officers and jawans.
In connection with the 69th Independence Day celebrations, Viraj Kala Kendra (VKK) organised patriotic song festival at J&K State Bharat Scouts and Guides Office premises in Gandhi Nagar. Principal Commissioner Income Tax, J&K, Sangeeta Gupta was the chief guest, while Anjali Sharma, Director, Doordarshan, Jammu was the guest of the honour. Many schools of Jammu city and Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) took part in the programme and sang patriotic songs to celebrate the Independence Day of the country. In her address, Raj Bharti, president of Viraj Kala Kendra threw light on the importance of Independence Day and highlighted the role of women in building a strong and prosperous nation. Earlier, Professor Rita Jitendra, Advisor of the organization, welcomed the dignitaries and participants.
On the eve of Independence Day, State Convener of BJP Industry Cell Vikram Randhawa unfurled the National Flag at Preet Nagar, Narwal, Trikuta Nagar, Belicharana and Gorkha Nagar. He also distributed prizes and gifts among the participating students.
