RABAT (Morocco): External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has said that Morocco has been a leader in counter-terrorism efforts and is a pioneer in fighting radicalisation.
She made the remarks in her address to the Indian community here.
“We are signing an MoU in this field to further deepen our bilateral cooperation,” she further said.
External Affairs Minister is on a visit to the country as part of three nation tour of Bulgaria, Morocco and Spain.
“We attach priority to strengthen our relationship in different sectors,” MEA spokesman Raveesh Kumar tweeted.
The Minister will be on two-day visit to Spain from Monday.
During her stay, besides the diplomatic engagements, the Spanish government will confer a prestigious award the ‘Grand Cross of the Order of Civil Merit’ to Ms Swaraj.
MEA spokesman Raveesh Kumar has said that the award will be given to Ms Swaraj as recognition by the Spanish government for India’s “swift response” through Operation Maitri in rescuing 71 Spanish nationals from
Nepal in April 2015 during the disastrous earthquake.
