Mother India SSS organizes ‘Display Your Talent’

JAMMU, Mar 5: A ‘Display Your Talent’ programme was organised at Mother India Sr. Sec. School, R.S. Pura, here today.
The students of Class 11th participated in the programme and displayed their talent in different categories viz. Cooking, Rangoli, Dress Making, T-Shirt Painting, Sand Painting, Handicraft, Glass Painting and Project making.
All the students were divided in different groups with one student as a head of the group.
In cooking students prepared different dishes like Makroni, Pasta, Fried Rice, Pranthas, Custurd Shakes, Fruit Shakes, Fruit Cream, Maggi, Fruit Salad, Champs etc. All the dishes were served to the staff members and they were delicious. Students also made Rangolis. Different theme based painting were also drawn. The paintings were based on themes like Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao, Save Girl Child, Swach Bharat, Save Earth, Anti-Drug Campaign etc. The students felt elated on displaying their talent and expressed their heartiest thanks to the management of the school for organising such wonderful activities in the school.
Sonia Tohra, Principal of the school said that these types of co-curricular activities are the part of education and play an important role in all round development of the student.
An Inter-Class Cricket Tournament was also organized under ‘Display Your Talent’ Programme. Total 8 Teams participated in the series. All the teams were represented by a teacher and the teams were named also on the name of the teacher. SS Kings XI and PK Challengers reached the final. The final match of the Series was held on today in which PK Challengers batted first and scored 147 runs in total 15 overs. Ajay Kumar of Non Medical Stream of Class 11th was the top scorer with 47 runs, while Amit Kumar of Commerce stream contributed 42 runs. Nitin Singh of Medical Stream took 3 wickets for SS Kings XI. Chasing a total of 148 runs, SS Kings XI were bundled out for 137 runs and lost the match. Tarun Kumar of Non Medical Stream clinched 4 wickets for his team PK Challengers and was declared as an of the match. Amit Kumar of Commerce Stream was declared as the man of the series for his all-round performance.
Sonia Tohra, Principal of the school presented trophies to the winners, runners-up teams, besides man of the series and man of the match prizes. She also encouraged the students to take part in games and sports as it keeps them fit.
The event was organized by the staff members including Naresh Kumar, Arjun Kapoor, Sourav Sharma, Narinder Singh, Ankush Gupta, Parmod Kumar, Anju, Parampreet Kour and Amita Choudhary.
