SRINAGAR, May 10: To review functioning of Regional Transport Office, Kashmir, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Commissioner Transport, Saurabh Bhagat here today.
While reviewing the performance of the Regional Transport Office Kashmir, the Chairman appreciated the efforts of RTO Office Kashmir in realizing highest ever revenue receipts and achieving targets of Vahan/Sarathi scheme duly sponsored by Government of India.
The meeting also discussed the digitalization of old registration record and it was disclosed that computerized Driving License and Registration Certificates of fresh vehicles is going on in all offices of RTOs and ARTOs. Moreover, the department is likely to undertake computerization of every activity during the current financial year 2014-15.
The meeting also discussed the targets under checking of fitness of vehicles and pollution checking centres.
Mr Bhagat emphasized the officers present in the meeting to enforce the provisions of Motor Vehicle Act and Rules framed there under against the violations of law and conduct Road Safety Awareness Programmes with zeal and zest to prevent and minimize the scope of road accidents.
