Motorcyclist dies, 3 injured in road mishaps

UDHAMPUR, Sept 19: A motorcyclist died when his bike was hit by an unknown vehicle on the National Highway at Garnai By Pass, this evening while three persons were injured in two other road accidents, here today.
A motorcyclist, identified as Vir Singh (22), son of Payar Singh of Tikri was knocked to death when his motorcycle JK14A-3592 was hit by unknown vehicle on the National Highway, around 8.55 pm.
On getting information, Rehambal Police reached the site and registered a case for further investigation. The dead body was shifted to District Hospital Udhampur.
Meanwhile, two persons were injured when a truck roll down into deep gorge near Thard. The truck, bearing registration number JK02BL-9984, was on way from Kashmir to Jammu when it met with the accident. Locals and Police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured persons to Udhampur District Hospital.  The injured were identified as driver Sham Singh (47) son of Vidhi Chand of Chatha Jammu and Chaitnya (15), son of Gopal Singh of Chatha Jammu.
In another road accident, a Motorcycle JK14D-7720 skidded off the road near Chinar National Highway resulting into injuries to one Vikram Sharma, son of Romesh Kumar of Chak Rkhwala Udhampur.
