Mount Litera celebrates ‘Annual Sports Day’

JAMMU, Nov 19: Mount Litera Zee School Jammu celebrated ‘Annual Sports Day’ in the School premises amidst a lot of fun and frolic, here today.
The function was graced by Dr Parneesh Mahajan Chairman Mount Litera Zee School Jammu, while Harvinder Singh Sihotra Liaison Officer, Dr Nitasha Bali Principal and Dr Radhika Mahajan Vice- Principal also attended the function.
The event commenced with lightning of the auspicious lamp, followed by a welcome song. The celebration started with the National anthem, instilling a pious feeling of patriotism in every heart, subsequently a spectacular and well synchronized march past by the four houses of the School.
The Principal extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries and shared a report of School achievements. The students entered into the spirit of the occasion on the grand way with the oath. Once the races began, the air was filled with cheering and tons of encouragement for the students.
The students participated in sports activities like Simple Race, Lemon and Spoon Race, Hurdle Race, Fruit Eating Race, Three Leg Race, Frog Race, Balloon Race, Balloon Blowing Race, Tug- of- War, Sac Race, Making of garland, One leg race, Kho Kho, Kabaddi and Cricket.
Dr Parneesh Mahajan said that sport develops a sense of friendliness among the children which helps children to develop mental and physical toughness.
The Principal said that sports is an integral part of education and in modern school, children are taught various sorts of games and gross motor skills in very early stages to keep their value in life.
The day ended with the group song.
