Mountaineering Association to train 1000 climbers

JAMMU, Dec 2: To promote the discipline of Sport-Climbing in nooks and corners of State with an objective to bring laurels at the National scene, the Mountaineering Association of Jammu and Kashmir aims at training around 1000 boys and girls within next six months.
This was announced by Ram Khajuria, general secretary of the Association in a function organized to felicitate the Sport-Climbing team, which won the 1st Sub Junior North Zone Sport-Climbing Competition, hosted by the State at Sprawling Buds School Jammu recently.
While lauding the best performers in this discipline, Khajuria said that the winners of gold, silver and bronze medals will be presented a cash award of Rs 10,000, 7,000 and 5,000 respectively.
The function among others was attended by Sumant Singh Jamwal, Yogesh Kumar, Shawetica Khajuria, Vivek Chauhan, Rahul Sharma and Ramesh Khajuria.
