SRINAGAR:
A delegation of Committee of Petitions from Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly today requested Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to set up an Assistance Centre of State tourism in Bhopal. An official spokesman said here this afternoon that the delegation called on the Chief Minister here this afternoon and during the meeting, the Legislators briefed him about wide ranging functions performed by the Petitions Committee.
The delegation, led by Rajan Panday, requested Mr Sayeed to explore the possibility of opening an Assistance Centre of State Tourism Department in Bhopal so as to increase the flow of tourists from Madhya Pradesh to J&K.
Placing high priority on revival of tourism sector in the State to provide instant relief to the people ravaged by 2014 floods, the Chief Minister also expressed his desire to make J&K hub of educational excellence in the country.
Various members of the delegation also appreciated the talent of students from J&K, who are pursuing studies in Madhya Pradesh and other states. During their stay, the Committee will interact with senior functionaries of J&K Legislative Assembly on issues related to conduct of business, privileges and holding of Assembly and Council Sessions.
