SAMBA, May 19: Member Parliament, Jugal Kishore Sharma chaired the quarterly meeting of District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) here today.
The meeting was attended by Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga, Member Parliament, Shamsher Singh Manhas, MLA Samba, Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal, MLA Hiranagar, Kuldeep Raj , DDC Sheetal Nanda ,ADDC Vivek Sharma, SSP Anil Magotra, District Level Officers and nominated members of DDCMC.
The members reviewed the physical and financial progress achieved by Rural Development, IWMP, Health, Education, PWD, PMGSY, PHE and other departments under various schemes.
Jugal Kishore directed ACD Samba to focus on proper identification of beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana( PMAY) and implementing the scheme in a transparent manner by displaying list of proposed beneficiaries at panchayats and inviting objections. He also stressed on clearing the pending liabilities under MGNREGA.
He asked Executive Engineer, PMGSY to ensure that the roads under ‘free maintenance’ are regularly repaired by contractors without fail and stressed on Purmandal-Punjowa road which needs urgent restoration.
Jugal Kishore asked concerned officers to undertake regular field visits and involve stakeholders while framing any plan for its successful implementation.
Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga called for taking strong steps for reforming the education sector in the district. He directed CEO Samba to undertake rationalization of staff so that adequate faculty is ensured in remote schools of the districtHe asked officials from NHIA to fast track process of building ‘Foot over bridge’ at Chichi Mata and Flyovers at Samba, Vijaypur and Bari Brahmana.
Shamsher Singh Manhas asked RDD to prepare a sustainable plan for pond renovation under 14th FC which can be taken up in phases. He also directed CMO Samba to prepare DPR for up gradation of District Hospital Samba having all requisite labs and equipments.
MLA Samba and Hiranagar also raised various development issues of their constituencies.
