REASI, May 2: The Zonal Level Inter-School Tournament of Chassana Zone in the disciplines of kabbadi, kho-kho, volleyball and wrestling, under the age groups of 14, 17, 19 was held at Army Ground Chassana, here today.
Over 200 students participated in the tournament, which is being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, under the overall supervision of Dr Swaran Singh Chib, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Reasi and under the supervision of Principal Higher Secondary School, Gota.
The tournament was declared open by the Commanding Officer, Army.
In kabaddi Under-14 boys, Middle School Chassana drubbed Middle School Moramal by 5 points (18-13), while in Under-17 boys, High School Tulli beat Higher Secondary School, Channa by a big margin of 25 points (31-6) and in Under-19 boys, HSS Channa outclassed HSS Gota by 16 points (37-21).
In kho-kho Under-14 boys, Middle School Chassana defeated Middle School Shikhari in a close contest by a narrow margin of 2 points (14-12), while in kho-kho Under-14 and Under-17 girls, MS Chassana and HSS Gota scripted wins over MS Kunderdhan and HS Tulli respectively.
In volleyball Under-19 boys, HSS Gota beat HSS Channa by 2-0 with the set scores (25-18, 25-14).
In wrestling below 35 kg, Bahardin of MS Dhamni beat Gurbachan Singh of HSS Channa, while in 35-40 kg, Jahangir Ahmed of MS Dhamni toppled Bhushan Singh of HSS Channa and in 40-45 kg, Rashpal Singh of MS Chassana got better of Amandeep Singh of HSS Channa.
Meanwhile, the tournament of Pouni zone in boys section commenced at HSS Pouni in which 154 boys were participated in different age group in Kabbadi, Volleyball, Kho-Kho, Wrestling. The tournament was declared open by the Principal HSS Pouni.
In Kabaddi Under-14 boys, HS Ransoo drubbed MS Kanha by 16 points (27-11) and in Under-17 boys, HSS Bharkh outplayed HS Ransoo by 22 points (40-18).
In kho-kho Under-14 boys, MS Pouni trounced HSS Bharakh by 3 points (13-10), while in Under-17 boys, HSS Bharkh defeated HSS Pouni by 6 points (12-6).
In volleyball boys Under-14, HS Ransoo drubbed HS Dadoa by 2-0, wherein the set scores read (25-22, 25-18), while in Undere-17 boys, HS Ransoo trounced HS Laiter by 2-0 with the set scores (25-17, 25-19).
