Mudasir, Dhruv, Vansh power J&K to thrilling win over Tripura

JAIPUR, Oct 4: Number-11 batter Mudasir Abdullah’s batting brilliance, coupled with superb display with the willow by skipper Dhruv Sharma and splendid bowling show by the duo of Vansh Khadyal and Mudasir guided Jammu and Kashmir to a thrilling 1-wicket victory over Manipur in the ongoing Men’s U-19 Vinod Mankad Trophy at Jaipur today.
J&K clinched an exciting victory as Mudasir Abdullah held his nerves when it mattered the most, scoring unbeaten 32 runs off 23 balls studded with 5 fours and one six while coming in at number-11.
Abdullah along with Abdul Basit Lone made a masterclass last-wicket partnership of 33 runs and took their team home before Dhruv Sharma played a brilliant innings of 59 runs off 77 balls with 9 boundaries.
Arkajit Roy bagged 3 wickets for Manipur, while Rohan Biswas took 2 wickets.
Earlier, winning the toss and electing to bat first, Meghalaya scored a modest total of 187 runs in 49.2 overs.
Tanay Mandal top scored with 57 runs off 96 balls, studded with 6 fours and one six, while Arkaji Roy contributed 43 runs off 73 balls with 5 boundaries. Openers Abhiraj Biswas and Deepjoy Deb also contributed 23 and 22 runs to the total respectively.

For Jammu and Kashmir, Vansh Khadyal was the pick of the bowlers, who took 3 wickets by conceding 37 runs in his 10 overs, while Mudasir Abdullah bagged 2 wickets. Zaid Ahmed and Abdul Basit Lone claimed one wicket each.

Third randomization of polling parties for conducting of bye- election of Thangdumbur constituency at NIC Kargil

Kargil, October 04, 2024: The third randomization of polling parties for conducting of bye- election of Thangdumbur constituency was held at NIC Kargil in presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Suhail Ahmad, along with Observers Skalzang Dorjay, R.O Ashiq Hussain Bashrat, A.R.O Ghulam Hassan, and DIO Iftikhar Hussain.

Following this randomization, polling materials for Thangdumbur constituency polling stations were distributed to the polling staff from the DC Office Kargil to ensure the smooth conduct of the bye-election scheduled on October 5, 2024 (Saturday).

The district administration has made comprehensive security and logistical arrangements to ensure smooth and peaceful distribution of polling materials and dispatch of polling staff to their respective polling stations. The Observers emphasized the importance of ensuring free, fair, and transparent elections.

Meanwhile, all polling parties for Thangdumbur constituency have safely reached their respective polling stations. Each of the five polling parties comprises four polling officers and is accompanied by security personnel, totaling 44 staff members, including police personnel.
