Mudasir wrecks havoc as Assam scores 263 against J&K

JAMMU, Dec 14: J&K’s talented medium fast bowler Mohd Mudasir wreaked havoc and plotted collapse of the Assam top and middle order by taking 5 important wickets, yet the visitors managed to score 263 runs in their first innings of Ranji Trophy Group-C match at GGM Science College Hostel Ground, here today.
At on stage, Assam were struggling at 106 for the loss of 6 wickets in 43.2 overs. However, Gokul Sharma played a brilliant knock of hundred odd runs to help his team to score respectable total. He faced 203 deliveries and waited for the lose deliveries to hit 15 delectable boundaries. PD Sonowal, Tarjinder Singh and Abu Nechim Ahmed were the other contributors with 40, 28 and 20 runs respectively.
For J&K, Mohd Mudasir was the pick of the bowlers, who took 5 wickets by conceding 71 runs in his 23.5 overs, while skipper Parvez Rasool and speedster Samiullah Beigh took 2 wickets each. Ramdayal Punia also took one wicket.
