JAMMU, Nov 28: A swashbuckling knock of 88 runs helped Kashmir University to thrash DDU, Gorakhpur by a huge margin of 155 runs to seal berth in the quarterfinals of the ongoing 4th All India Vice Chancellor’s Cup T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by University of Jammu at University grounds, here.
Batting first, Kashmir University rode on a superb knock of 88 runs by Muddasir to post a mammoth total of 197 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. He struck 10 fours and a six in his power-packed knock. Shahnawaz slammed superb half-century (55 runs) with the help of 8 boundaries. Parvez Parray also contributed 31 runs to the total. For DDU, Rahul, Surinder and Vijay claimed one wicket each.
DDU, in reply bundled-out for a paltry total of 42 runs in 11.2 overs, thus lost the match by 155 runs. None of the batsmen crossed the double figure mark. For Kashmir University, Parvez Parray scalped 4 wickets, while Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din claimed 3. Muddasir was adjudged man of the match.
The match was officiated by JD Singh, Raman Dogra and Yogesh.
In another match, SKUAST Jammu defeated Mumbai University by 49 runs. SKUAST Jammu scored 147 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Shamsudin was top scorer with 40 runs, while Manjeet, Mohd Razak and Naresh Bhatt scored 21 runs each. For Mumbai University, Chanderkant, Sanjay Pawar and Shrikant bagged 2 wickets each.
Mumbai University in reply, managed to score 98 runs in the stipulated overs, thus lost the match by 49 runs. Rakesh, Anoop and Shamsdin claimed 2 wickets each for SKUAST, Jammu. Shamsudin was declared man of the match for his all-round show.

PAU Ludhiana scripted a narrow win over IGNOU Delhi by 16 runs in a close contest. Batting first, PAU Ludhiana scored 131 runs in 20 overs. Harish top scored with 60 runs, while Eclove and Surinder contributed 30 and 16 runs to the total. Satpal bagged 2 wickets for IGNOU, while Harish, Gourav and Lalit claimed one wicket each.
IGNOU, Delhi managed to score 115 runs in the allotted overs by losing 9 wickets, thus lost the match by 16 runs. Harish was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant knock.

In another match, DU Delhi drubbed PU Chandigarh by 95 runs. DU scored a decent total of 167 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, with Sanjay smashing power-packed 71 runs, which included 9 fours and 1 six. Dev Singh also contributed 41 runs to the total. For PU Punjab Amrinder was the wrecker-in-chief who claimed 5 wickets, while Rajesh took one.
In reply, PU Punjab bundled-out for a meagre total of 72 runs in 13.2 overs, thus lost the match by 95 runs. Amrinder and Ved Prakash contributed 28 and 14 runs to the total respectively. Anand Negi bagged 3 wickets, while Sanjay, Dinesh and Hari Mehta claimed 2 wickets each. Sanjay was declared man of the match. The match was officiated by Vijay Dogra, Sudhir Singh and Sanjay.
