Mujtaba’s masterclass puts J&K back into game

JAMMU, Feb 6: Mujtaba Yousuf claimed 5 for 51 in a seam and swing masterclass to put J&K back into the game against Baroda after J&K conceded 119 runs in the first innings lead to their rivals at Jammu University Ground, here today.
Earlier, resuming from an overnight score of 197/8, Baroda scored 244 runs in their first innings.
For J&K, left-arm spinner Vanshaj Sharma was the wrecker-in-chief, who took 5 wickets by conceding 65 runs in his 28 overs, while another left-arm spinner Vishal Kumar claimed 3 wickets by conceding 61 runs in his 22.2 overs and left-arm medium pacer, Basit Bashir took 2 wickets by giving away 40 runs in 14 overs.
In reply, J&K bundled out for paltry 125 runs, thus conceding a first innings lead of 119 runs to Baroda. Yawer Hassan top scored with magnificent 57 runs off 116 balls, studded with 9 boundaries and one six, while Kawal Preet Singh and Vanshaj Sharma contributed 22 and 16 runs to the total respectively.
Medium pacer, Mujtaba Yousuf was the wrecker-in-chief, who captured 5 wickets by conceding 51 in his 13 overs, while Vanshaj Sharma claimed one wicket.
