JAMMU, Dec 13: Mulan CC emerged as the champions of the Swachh Bharat Big Cricket League 2024 after a thrilling final against Swachhta Strikers at Kot Tawa today.
Swachhta Strikers won the toss and opted to bowl first. Mulan CC set a challenging total of 197/3, with Lakhan top-scoring with 49 runs. Rahil (38) and Rohan (36) also contributed significantly. In response, Swachhta Strikers struggled to form partnerships and were bowled out for 163 runs, falling short by 33 runs. Kavit’s determined knock of 49 was the highlight of their chase.
Mulan CC’s bowlers and fielders kept the pressure on throughout, securing the victory. The Player of the Tournament award was given to Kapil Deol of Swachhta Strikers for his all-round performance. Rahil Singh of Mulan CC was named the Best Bowler for being the highest wicket-taker, while Danish Fayaz of Chief Secretary XI received the Best Batsman award for his exceptional run-scoring.
The event, organized by 92.7 BIG FM and the Department of Rural Sanitation, J&K, successfully blended cricket with the message of cleanliness, emphasizing sportsmanship and community responsibility.
