JAMMU, Aug 12: KC Public School is abuzz with a plethora of activities these days. James Richardson and Suzanne Henry, British Council nominated Teaching Assistants at the school are now well attuned with school ethos and their involvement and rapport with students is becoming stronger day-by-day.
Students are getting exposed to learning linguistically appropriate strategies and techniques through interactive sessions such as panel discussions, working on a newsletter, quizzes, poetry, drama and creative writing.
James Richardson has launched a website and students are contributing their original articles to it on a variety of topics. The visiting teachers are providing students ample opportunities to broaden their perception, generate creative ideas, develop a challenging mindset, critically analyze information and foster innovation.
James and Suzanne are also an integral part of the ongoing India Week celebrations and have been enjoying colourful folk dances of different States presented by students. The Virtual India Tour was a visual treat for them.
The vast array of exhibits and information given by students different States of India was indeed a great experience for them. In a special cultural evening, Kceans showcased the rich cultural heritage of India through dances of J&K and the fusion of Rajasthani and Gujarati folk dance forms. The particular note was the fusion of Morris folk dance of England with a Scottish folk dance genre.
The highlight of the show was that the British teachers while performing the roles of stage anchors welcomed the parents present at the event in Hindi. The enthusiasm with which they are working at KCPS is really helping the students a great deal.
