JAMMU, July 6: A four members team of Crime Branch, Mumbai reached Kishtwar today to take custody of Parvez Ahmad Tak, who had made sensational disclosure during his custody with Kishtwar police that Bollywood actor Laila Khan and her four family members had been killed in February 2011.
DIG Doda-Ramban range Gareeb Dass told the Excelsior that a four members team of Mumbai Crime Branch reached Kishtwar early this morning along with production warrant of a Mumbai court to take custody of Tak, a resident of Kishtwar, who has admitted during interrogation that Bollywood and Lollywood starlet Laila Khan, her mother Selina Begum Patel, siblings Zara Patel and Imran Patel and cousin Reshma Patel alias Laila Khan had been killed by him and four other at an isolated place, about 100 kilometers from Mumbai.
Excelsior had in its yesterday’s edition exclusively broke the report of the killing of Laila Khan and her four family members in Mumbai in February last year.
The DIG said the Mumbai Crime Branch would appear in Kishtwar court tomorrow along with production warrant of Mumbai court to seek custody of Tak for his sustained questioning in Mumbai and identify the spot where Laila Khan and her family had been killed.
“If the court grants custody, the Crime Branch will take him to Mumbai tomorrow for questioning”, sources said.
Tak had disclosed that he along with Asif Shaikh, a Bollywood movies financier, Afghan Khan, a real estate developer and two sharp-shooters had murdered Laila Khan and her family in February second week and grabbed property of the starlet.
Tak had married Selina Begum Patel after she was divorced by her husband Nadir Shah Patel, a prominent businessman.
Kishtwar police had arrested Tak after the recovery of Laila Khan’s Mitsubishi Outlander car in Kishtwar last month. Tak had spilled the beans and taken lid of the murder mystery after sustained questioning by Kishtwar Police.
Meanwhile, the Crime Branch of Mumbai police, which is probing the kidnapping and murder mystery of Laila Khan and her family, today said four members of the family were last located at Igatpuri in Nashik district of Maharashtra; but not Laila and her elder sister.
“The last location of four people — Laila’s mother Selina (50), twin siblings Zara and Imran, and cousin Reshma Patel — was Igatpuri. But we suspect that it is not Igatpuri in Laila’s case,” said a senior official.
The kidnappers, apparently, took Laila and her elder sister Hazmina somewhere else, he said.
“It is also possible that Laila and her sister might not have gone to Igatpuri at all and taken elsewhere and killed.”
The starlet and her family went missing from Mumbai in February last year. A case of kidnapping was registered at the Oshiwara police station here yesterday, on the complaint of her father Nadir Patel.
According to the complaint, Tak and his accomplice Asif kidnapped Laila and others. Asif Shaikh was arrested here yesterday.
Shaikh, a Bollywood movies financier, was arrested on revelation of Parvez Tak.
He was picked up from his residence in Juhu Gali in the western suburb. During interrogation, he admitted that he was involved in the killing of Laila Khan’s family members, the official said.
