JAMMU, Sept 3: Model United Nations-Youth Conclave is a simulation of the United Nations conference where students role-play as delegates of different countries attempting to crack the real-world issues while confining themselves to the policies and perspectives of their assigned portfolio.
With this motto, The Shri Ram Universal School in collaboration with Global Assembly Youth Conclave hosted a two-day Shri MUN-Youth Conclave. A total of 250 students from schools of repute from District Jammu and Samba including the students from the host school participated in the conference.
Abhishek Sharma, Deputy Commissioner of District Samba was chief guest for the Prize distribution and closing ceremony emphasized that establishing such communication channels will bolster cohesiveness when it comes to dealing with multidimensional threats.
The Best Delegation Trophy was awarded to the contingent from Heritage School. Assistant Professor (Dr) Mohit Sharma, Public Policy and Public Administration Department at Central University Jammu graced the occasion as Guest of Honour. Dr JN Baliya, Professor and Head of Education Department at Central University Jammu was chief guest at the opening ceremony. The chief guest was felicitated by Sanjeev Gupta, Chairman TSUSJ, Rajni Gupta, Director TSUSJ and Sayed Musharaf, Founder of Global Assembly Youth Conclave.
Colonel VK Sharma (Retd), Principal emphasized that the UN in the present context of global issues needs to revisit its primary charter to suit and evolve solutions to the challenges that threaten the survival of mankind.
