JAMMU, July.26: Defeating Kalu of Bishnah in a rain-hit tough fight that lasted for more than 20 minutes, Wrestler Muneer of Bajrangi Akhara won the Thanda Pani Kesari dangal title held at Thanda Pani, near Nagrota, here.
The Dangal was organized by Thanda Pani Dangal Committee under the overall supervision of its president Hans Raj and members including Shallo Ram, Gardhari Lal, Noor Ali, Puran Chand, Mohd Rafiq, Panch Raj Singh, Season Singh and Daleep Singh.
Senior Congress leader and President Hotel & Restaurant Association, Katra Rakesh Wazir was the chief guest on the occasion who gave away the cash prizes to the winners of the competition besides other gifts in presence of other dignitaries including Ch. Manzoor Hussain and Ghulam Nabi. The second main bout was won by Liaqat Ali of Bajrangi Akhara, beating Vijay of Bain Bajalta. The 3rd bout was clinched by Salman of Udhampur by trouncing Haneef of Pathankot, while the 4th bout was won by Daleer Khan of Nargara, drubbing Akram of Chowadhi and the 5th bout was won by Javed Khan of Nargara by defeating Raju of Pathankot.In total 45 bouts were played in the Wrestling event.
Rakesh Wazir while speaking on the occasion complimented Dangal Committee for successful conduct of Dangal and people for coming in large numbers to watch the event.
President of Dangal Committee, Hans Raj presented vote of thanks, while Mohd. Fareed conducted the proceedings of the programme.
