Murderer arrested

JAMMU, May 31: Gharota police arrested a murderer within 48 hours, who killed his younger brother with sharp edged weapon in Kangar area.
As per police sources, on May 28 this year, a man identified as Balbir Singh, son of Balwan Singh, resident of Kangar had a quarrel with his wife. The younger brother of Balbir namely Joginder Singh (29) tried to intervene, sought out the issue and protect his sister-in-law, but Balbir attacked him head with a sharp edged weapon (Parthi).
Joginder received grievous injuries in the attack and was rushed to Primary Health Centre (PHC), Bhalwal and was later referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where he failed to respond to the treatment and succumbed to his injuries.
After completion of all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites.
A case under FIR Number 51/18 under Section 302 RPC and 4/25 Arms Act was registered at Police Station Gharota and hunt was launched to nab the accused, who managed to escape from the spot.
On reliable information, a team from Gharota Police Station conducted raid in Thathri area of District Doda and nabbed the accused.
Further questioning into the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Gharota Inspector Gurmeet Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Munish Anand, SP Rural Shivdeep Singh Jamwal and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
