JAMMU, Oct 16: In an exhilarating display of batting, Musaif Ajaz scored a magnificent 297 runs, leading Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) in their match against Delhi in the Men’s U-23 Col CK Nayudu Trophy at Nawab Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi Complex Delhi. Ajaz’s innings, featuring 25 fours and 10 sixes off 328 balls, was pivotal as J&K found themselves in a precarious position at 29/4 in their second innings, trailing by 37 runs.
Musaif’s partnership with Arnav Gupta, who scored 98 off 216 balls, was crucial, adding 287 runs to the score. Arya Thakur added a quick-fire 66 off 58 balls, helping J&K post a total of 482/8 declared in their second innings. Earlier, J&K had scored 350 in their first innings, with Qamran Iqbal contributing a stellar 147.
Delhi replied with 387 runs in their first innings, led by Mayank Gussain (89) and Hardik Sharma (83). The match ended in a draw, showcasing promising performances from J&K’s spinners Vishal Kumar and Janib Javaid, who each took 4 wickets in the match, highlighting the potential of J&K’s cricketing talent.
