Music competition, painting contest held

Chief guest felicitating winner during music and painting competition at Kargil on Monday.

KARGIL, May 20: As a part of the series of its efforts to encourage the musical talent of the young folks and inculcate the art of light music among them, the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Kargil, organized a Childrens’ On Spot Light Music Competition and a Childrens’ On Spot Painting Competition at Government Higher Secondary School Trespone, here today.
In the light music competition, Akber Ali claimed first place, while Hamida Banoo and Saida Banoo secured second and third place respectively.
Meanwhile, in the painting competition, Marzia Arman won the first prize, Nassir Hussain the second and Archo Masuma bagged the third.
Speaking on the occasion, the Principal and the staff members of Higher Secondary School Trespone congratulated Cultural Academy Kargil for its aptitude hunt drive across several schools at the block headquarters of the district.
Earlier, Muhammad Ali Tak, Cultural Officer Kargil presented the welcome address.
Among others present on the occasion included Nazir Hussain, Special Officer for Culture G1, senior announcer at AIR, Kargil, Mohammad Hassan Askari, Incharge Principal Higher Secondary School Trespone Masarrat Hussain ,staff members and judges of the event.
