JAMMU, Aug 5: A musical extravaganza ‘Aaya Sawan Jhoom Ke’ was held at GD Goenka Public School, here today.
The monsoon, one got a feeling, was truly magical, mystical and lyrical as the students presented all the songs on monsoon in the programme.
The first performance was by Tanishka Tikkoo with the rendition of raag ‘Bihaag’, which was followed by a splendid performance by Urvi Kotwal who sang ‘Sawan Ka Maheena Pawan Kare Shor’, while the programme ended with another superb performance by Arman Luthra who sang ‘Sawan Mein Lag Gayee’.
The first prize went to Shivani of Class Xth and Dhanya Sharma of Class 1st, while the second position was bagged by Arman Luthra of Class IVth and the third place was claimed by Stenzin of Class 1st.
The judges of the event were Poonam Mahajan and Shaam.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Shanaz Choudhary, Additional District Magistrate Revenue, Rahul Bansal, Chairman GD Goenka, Sanya Bansal, Director GD Goenka and Varsha Bansal.
The programme was the brainchild of School Principal, Jyoti Asija, who presented vote of thanks on the occasion.
