NEW DELHI, June 11: Mustard seed prices fell by 0.58 per cent to Rs 3,965 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators booked profits amid easing demand in the spot market.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, mustard seed for delivery in June fell by Rs 23, or 0.58 per cent to Rs 3,965 per quintal with an open interest of 28,030 lots.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in July shed Rs 20, or 0.50 per cent to Rs 4,012 per quintal in 1,36,100 lots.
Marketmen said besides profit-booking by participants, fall in demand in the spot market against sufficient stocks position on increased supplies from growing areas, mainly led to decline in mustard seed prices at futures trade. (PTI)
