Mustard seed futures extend gains

NEW DELHI, Aug 18:  Mustard seed prices rose by another Rs 61 to Rs 3,771 per quintal in futures trade today as participants indulged in raising their holdings, driven by upbeat physical cues.
Marketmen said widening of positions by players in line with a firm trend at the physical markets on pause in supplies amid brisk buying by oil mills, supported the upmove in mustard seed prices in futures trade.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, mustard seed for delivery this month was trading notably higher by Rs 61, or 2.06 per cent, to Rs 3,771 per quintal, having an open interest of 1,960 lots.
The delivery for the most-traded September also inched up by a Re, or 0.03 per cent, to Rs 3,790 per quintal, depicting an open interest of 56,520 lots. (PTI)
