MVD challans 108 vehicles for violation, seizes seven

DODA, Dec 5: A team of Motor Vehicle Department challaned over 108 vehicles for violation of different provisions of new Motor Vehicles Act and rules framed there under, besides seizing 7 vehicles and suspending 9 driving licenses during the last 20 days.
The team led by ARTO MVD conducted continuous road checking at different locations in Doda and in its adjoining areas, wherein various traffic violators were booked.
The team collected a fine of Rs 89,000 from the violators during the last 20 days. Seven vehicles were also seized who were either being droved without license or without fitness certificate.
It is pertinent to mention here that as a part of the district road safety action plan and keeping in view the safety of the passengers across the district, the whole activities are going on mission mode, under the supervision of DC Doda, Dr Sagar D Doifode.
The DC has directed the executing department to strictly regulate the traffic rules and checking of the passenger vehicles according to the new MVD act, besides laying more focus to ensure the strict fitness checking of the passenger vehicles.
