‘My Youth My Pride’ activities enter 2nd day

JAMMU, May 16: ‘My Youth My Pride’ activities, being organised by J&K Sports Council at MA Stadium, entered 2nd day wherein players of Netball and Weightlifting participated in various activities under the initiative, here today.
Councillor Ward-20 of Jammu Municipal Corporation, Rahul Kumar, general secretary J&K Weightlifting Association, Youdhvir Singh, Vishal Gupta, Sandeep Gupta and Pinky Gupta were among the guests of the event at both the venues including Gandhi Nagar and MA Stadium where activities are going on full swing.
While interacting with the above mentioned disciplines’ players, the guests expressed hope that these players shall prove their mettle in the games and will also increase the medals tally for J&K in upcoming event.
Councillor Rahul Kumar also briefed about the benefits of sports and said that all youth should participate in the sports event, organised by the Council under the initiative ‘My Youth My Pride’, while Vishal Gupta highlighted that the sports as a tool for all round development of the youth and advocated that same initiatives and competitions should be organised for rural youth.
General secretary of Weightlifting Association appreciated the efforts of Government in general and J&K Sports Council in particular for organizing these matches/competitions for the uplifting the sports culture among the youth.
Earlier, Divisional Sports Officer, Ashok Singh briefed about the benefits of ‘Sports Policy’ recently released by the J&K Govt and requested the youth to avail the all the benefit of the sports.
Coaches including Akash Batra and Inderpal Singh as well as senior players of the respective games were present during the event.
