*Saiyam clinches U-11, U-13 titles

JAMMU, Dec 4: Alena Arora defeated Syrah Dewan by score of 3-1 in the Under-11 girl’s category final, securing another win to continue her perfect record. Syrah, the youngest competitor in the tournament, gave it her all, but Alena prevailed in the end.
Myrah Dewan lifted her first title by defeating the experienced Gunjan by three games to nil in Under-13 girl’s category. In the under 11 and 13 boys category, Saiyam Nischel clinched both titles. In the under 11 boys he defeated Ahaan by 3-0 and the under 13 category was no different with the same opponent and same score line.
Results of the day were Hopes Girls (under 11 years) final Alena beat Syrah by 3-1, Hopes Boys (Under 11) finals; Saiyam beat Ahaan by 3-0. Cadet Girls (Under 13) finals, Myrah beat Gunjan by 3-0. Cadet Boys (under 13) semi finals, Saiyam beat Ahaan by 3-0, Sub Junior Girls (Under 15) semi final: Arushika beat Myrah by 3-1, Sub Junior Boys (Under 15) semi final, Ritvik beat Ayaan by 3-0, Samarth beat Gourav by 3-2. Junior Boys (Under 17) semifinals by Ritvik beat Gourav by 3-0; Pratham beat Satyam by 3-0.
Junior Boys (Under 19) semi finals, Pratham beat Sourav by 3-0; Ritvik beat Akhilesh by 3-0. Women’s finals Mishti beat Hargun by 3-0; Nitya beat Arya by 3-1.
Prominent persons who were present included Satish Gupta, Sanjay Wahi President J&K Table Tennis Association, Ajay Sharma, Satvir Singh, Vasu Dewan, Narinder Singh and Sheetal Gandotra. The matches were officiated by Meenu Rajesh, Asad Sharma and Ankit Sharma.
