RAJOURI, Aug 23: The family members and villagers held protest after a youth died under mysterious circumtances in Kotranka (Kandi) area of Rajouri district.
Official sources said that the body of a 25-years-old youth, hailing from Samot village under Budhal Police jurisdiction in Rajouri district was found under suspicious circumstances near Kotranka Jama Masjid on Wednesday morning.
Some people informed police that the body of an unknown person was lying in the street near Jama Masjid located in the main market of Kotranka. Immediately, after receiving information, the police party reached the spot and took the dead body in custody and sent it to the government hospital in Kotranka.
Later, the police identified the deceased as Mohammad Shabbir, son of Mohammad Shakeel a resident of Samot village and was missing from his house since Tuesday. Police took the dead body in its possession and after post-mortem, handed over to the family. Taking cognizance of the matter, the police have started investigation by registering a case under section 174 CrPC.
Meanwhile, the relatives held protest and blocked Budhal road. They alleged that youth was father of two small children. They claimed that irt was a blind murder. They alleged that the police should investigate thoroughly and fair manner and all those involved in his murder should be arrested and put behind the bars at the earliest so that the family can get justice.
After about an hour of protest, the team from Budhal Police Station reached Samot and pacified the protesters and told that family would get justice. Then they lifted dharna from the road.
