JAMMU, Dec 23: To re-accredit the College for the third circle, a NAAC Peer team conducted a two-day visit of the Government College for Women, Parade, which is the first college in J&K State to undergo the new procedure of NAAC re-accreditation.
In the new NAAC re-accreditation process, 70 percent score is based on Quantitative metrics submitted online in SSR. The 30 percent evaluation is based on qualitative metrics that are evaluated by the NAAC Peer team by onsite visit after satisfying the pre-qualifying metrics. The SSR of the College was accepted by NAAC in September.
The NAAC Peer team consisted of three members namely Prof (Dr) Mohd Akbar Ali Khan (Chairperson), former Vice Chancellor University of Telangana; Prof (Dr) V Madhurima (Member Secretary), Professor Department of Material Physics, Central University of Tamil Nadu and Professor (Dr) Anuradha Jain (Member), Principal Vivekanand Professional College, Indraprastha University.
The team visited the college premises and spent much time and energy in physical verification of the departments and documents as required in the NAAC Re-accreditation procedure. The team members expressed their satisfaction over the available facilities after conducting a thorough inspection of the various departments, committees and cells. The team also interacted with the teaching and non teaching staff. They also held discussions and took feedback from students, aluminae, parents, members from Governing Body and Academic Council. The students of the college presented a cultural show on the first day.
On the second day, the NAAC Peer team verified the facilities provided to the students like Hostel, Sports, NCC, NSS, ICT, Canteen, Bus, Placement and Green initiatives undertaken by the college. The Peer team members, in an exit meeting on the second day, expressed their overall view about the college.
The Chairman gave his remarks, commendation and observations made by the team during the visit. He handed over the report to the college Principal Dr Hemla Aggrawal and also appreciated the team effort of the college IQAC team, headed by Dr Niraj Gupta.
