Nabi, Salam shine as Tripura dismiss for 165

JAMMU, Nov 13: Jammu & Kashmir’s bowlers, spearheaded by the destructive Auqib Nabi and skillful Rasikh Salam, put on a dominant performance, reducing Tripura to a meager 165 runs in their first innings on Day 1 of the ongoing Ranji Trophy Elite Group-A match at the JKCA Hostel Ground.
J&K’s bowlers struck early, relentlessly troubling the Tripura batters. Skipper Mandeep Singh top-scored for Tripura with 67 runs, while Tajasvi Jaiswal (33) and MB Mura Singh (25) were the only other notable contributors. Auqib Nabi was the standout performer, claiming 6 wickets for 54 runs in 16 overs. Rasikh Salam supported him well, taking 3 wickets for just 26 runs in 7.3 overs, while left-arm spinner Abid Mushtaq also added a wicket.
In reply, J&K reached 82/3 at stumps. Shubham Khajuria showed great resilience, remaining unbeaten on 46 runs from 94 balls, including 7 boundaries. Shivansh Sharma was at the other end on 4*. Vivrant Sharma (16), Abdul Samad (15), and Ahmad Banday (0) were dismissed earlier in the innings. J&K still trails Tripura by 83 runs with 7 wickets in hand, and Khajuria’s composed innings gives J&K the edge heading into Day 2. For Tripura, Rana Dutta, AK Sarkar, and MB Mura Singh claimed one wicket each.
