NEW DELHI, July 1: Deputy Chief Minister of Nagaland, Y Patton today called on Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, and discussed various State related development projects with him
During half an hour meeting, Patton requested the DoNER Minister to convey to Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanks on behalf of Nagaland State government for having made the central funding assistance to 100% instead of earlier 90-10 ratio. He said, Nagaland being far flung and developing State, will get immensely benefited from this decision.
Patton also took up with Dr Jitendra Singh the issue of central assistance to the tune of Rs. 13.52 crore to the State of Nagaland for rebuilding totally washed away/damaged infrastructure in the 2017 floods He said, a decision to this effect had already been taken and conveyed by the Ministry of DoNER to State government of Nagaland last year and it was only the release of fund which was pending. He further brought to the notice of DoNER Minister a communique received from the Ministry of DONER which had asked the State government that suitable projects falling under the category of totally damaged/ washed away, within the ceiling, may be identified for rebuilding and proposing the same for sanction.
Patton also conveyed to Dr Jitendra Singh the enthusiasm and optimism with which the people of Nagaland had welcomed the election of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for second term with a resounding majority. He said, Nagaland was on the path of development and was confident that under the Modi government it will usher in a new area of development.
