JAMMU, Sept 2: On the auspicious occasion of Prakash Utsav of Guru Granth Sahib (the sacred book of Sikh religion), All J&K Sikh Unity Forum led by its president Ajmeet Singh besides Ravinder Singh and Gurkirat Singh took out Nagar Kirtan from Gurudwara Shri Guru Teg Bahadur in Simbal Camp, Jammu.
A large number of youth from Simbal camp took part in the Nagar Kirtan with religious fervor. The Nagar Kirtan passed through several streets of Ward No 3, 4, 5 of Simbal camp amid chanting of bhajans and religious slogans and finally concluded at Ward No 1 where Harvinder Singh Kuku (Naib Sarpanch) had organized Langer for common masses.
There, the devotees took Baba Ji’s Prasad and then kept busy in chanting bhajans till 8 pm.
While speaking on the occasion, Ajmeet Singh said that on September 1, 1604, Guru Granth Sahib was kept at the sacred place of Harmandir Sahib, Golden Temple in Amritsar and the first person Baba Budha Ji chanted the initial lines of the sacred book which were “santa ke kaaraj aap khavayo har kam kravan aaya ram” which means if any person preaches God from the core of his heart, God will never put hurdle in his awarding to this.
He also briefed that Guru Granth Sahib has 15 Bhagat, 11 Bhatt, 6 Guru Sahib and 3 Gursikhs written holy words which have been jotted in 31 raagsy.
