JAMMU, Feb 29: Nagrota Cricket Club (NCC) crushed Laxman Cricket Club (LCC) by a big margin of 104 runs in the ongoing T20 Cricket Tournament ‘Salute and Tribute to Siachen Martyrs’, being organized by Parade Sports Association at Parade Cricket ground, here.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, NCC scored a decent total of 161 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Irshad Ahmed was the top scorer with 61 runs, studded with 6 fours and 4 sixes, while Rahul and Imran contributed 22 and unbeaten 19 runs to the total respectively. Raju Bhat and Badal chipped in with 14 runs each. For LCC, Sachin took 3 wickets, while Bunty and Ritik bagged 2 wickets each and Raghu claimed one.
In reply, LCC bundled out for a paltry total of 57 runs in 12 overs, thus lost the match by a big margin of 104 runs. Ishaan and Badal were the only two batsmen who crossed double figure mark, scoring 16 and 12 runs respectively. For NCC, Kaka was the pick of the bowlers, who scalped 4 important wickets, while Riaz, Surinder and Rajinder claimed 2 wickets each. Kaka of NCC was declared as man of the match for his superb bowling display.
