JAMMU, Apr 22: In order to gather the support of Sikh Community in favour of Jugal Kishore, the BJP Candidate for the Lok Sabha elections, Ranjodh Singh Nalwa, J&K head of BJP Minority Morcha, organised a public meeting here today.
The meeting was attended by the BJP J&K State President, Ravinder Raina, Jugal Kishore.
Speaking on the occasion, Nalwa didn’t shy away from taking a swipe at the Congress, accusing the party of being anti-Sikh and reminding community members of past injustices during Congress rule.
He asserted that BJP is the only well-wisher of the Sikhs and the community should morally support the party in the Lok Sabha Polls.
Nalwa reiterated the BJP’s commitment to the welfare of the Sikh community since Independence.
Highlighting Prime Minister Modi’s proactive engagement with the Sikh community, Nalwa pointed to significant initiatives such as the opening of the Kartarpur Corridor and the commemoration of Sikh Gurus’ birth anniversaries.
He also referred Modi’s announcement in January 2022, designating December 26 as Veer Baal Diwas, a move lauded by the Sikh community.
In his address, BJP State head, Ravinder Raina, said that for the first time India has a political party and the PM, who displayed serious concern and pain for this community. The Sikhs in the Jammu and Kashmir UT and other parts of the country have got justice and real honour under Narendra Modi Government.
Jugal Kishore, while addressing to the members of Sikh community said that it has been the Narendra Modi Government which punished the culprits of 1984 genocide of Sikhs in New Delhi and other places”, he said and added that no other party or government expressed such pain for the murder of thousands of Sikhs and uprooting of their families.
Among others who were present during the meeting included, S Narinder Singh, Santokh Singh, Gurdeep Singh, Vikram Randhawa, Vijaya Mottan and Rekha Mahajan.
