JAMMU, Jan 8: Handball Federation of India (HFI) has made three more appointments in its National team from the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
On a visit to Jammu, the top officials of the HFI announced the nominations of Narendra Mahajan as Associate Vice President, former chief coach NSNIS Patiala, JS Soodan as Advisor and Sandeep Verma as PRO of the Federation.
Formal letters of appointments were handed over all the three individuals by senior vice president (Administration), Dr Anandeshwar Panday in the presence of HFI president, Jagan Monhan Rao and treasurer, Vinay Kumar Singh.
“Handball of J&K has a rich history and the erstwhile State has given India number of international players. So, we have accorded priority to J&K in terms of representation in the Federation. We expect the new and young team in the J&K Handball Association (JKHA) turned the things around and revive the game to its old glory,” Dr Panday said.
Young president of the HFI, Jagan Monhan Rao also praised the newly elected J&K Association.
“The new J&K unit has got international player, Ranjit Singh as president. We have accorded priority to J&K in terms of improved infrastructure and representation at the National level,” Jagan said.
Among those present from JKHA were chairman, Narendra Mahajan, senior vice president, Ashwani Kumar Raina, vice president, Prabal Kumar, general secretary, Rajesh Chandan, joint secretary, Sanjeev Singh and executive member, Jinder Pal.
