POONCH, Sept 13: Five media-persons and pilot of Pawan Hans helicopter had a narrow escape after a big bird hit the wind screen of the helicopter in Poonch area today.
The mishap took place when the first flight of the Helicopter arrived here and District Administration offered a ride on the chopper to the media-persons in the closer vicinity of Poonch.
The media-persons were taking shots with their cameras as well of Poonch city and its surroundings. As the chopper reached near Nangali Sahib and was returning, a big bird hit the wind screen of the chopper, causing crack. The injured bird entered inside and its feathers spread all around inside.
This impact of the collision was so big that a massive sound was caused and the chopper lost balance. The five passengers were shocked and cried in panic.
The alert pilot, however, controlled chopper and managed the speed.
He brought it down and then drove back to the DPL Poonch. All the passengers had a miraculous escape in the mishap.
