Narrow win by Ahad Sultans over TCI Cheetahs in play offs

SRINAGAR, Sept 17: Ahad Sultans registered a narrow win by 8 runs over TCI Cheetahs in the play offs of the ongoing Jammu and Kashmir Corporate Premier League (JKCPL), here.
Earlier, put into bat, Ahad Sultans scored a decent total of 165 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 7 wickets in the process. Imran Zargar was the top scorer with 37 runs off 42 balls, while Mohsin Mufti and Nazir Ahmed contributed power-packed 30 and 20 runs off 13 and 9 balls respectively. For TCI Cheetahs, Umar Nazir, Iqbal Shah and Manik Gupta bagged 2 wickets each by conceding 37, 19 and 33 runs in 4 overs each respectively.
In reply, TCI Cheetahs could manage to score 157 runs in the allotted 20 overs by losing 9 wickets, thus lost the match by a narrow margin of 8 runs. Skipper Majid Dar and Hamid contributed 32 runs each, while Umer Nissar chipped in with 18 runs. Majid scored the runs in 24 balls, while Hamid took 27 for his brief knock. For Ahad Sultans, Nazir Ahmad and Obaid Gill bagged 2 wickets each, while Sameer Bell claimed one wicket. Nazir Ahmad was adjudged HDFC man of the match, while Mohsin Mufti was felicitated with TCI maximum sixes award. They received the awards from JKCA Working Committee members Abdul Rouf, Shiban Lal Trakroo, Mohd Ashraf and newly named Ranji Trophy selector Shahid Parvez.
