Nasik’s Vaibhav begins Run from Kashmir to Kanyakumari

SRINAGAR, Nov 11: Renowned pediatrician Dr. Riaz Sofi flagged off 26-year-old athlete Vaibhav Walmik Shinde from Nasik, Maharashtra, at Lal Chowk, marking the start of his ambitious attempt to break the Guinness World Record for running from Kashmir to Kanyakumari (K2K).
Starting at 7:50 am from the iconic Clock Tower, Vaibhav aims to cover 3,600 km in 45-46 days, running 90 km each day. His first destination is Banihal.
Vaibhav, who has been getting training for the challenge for two years with the support of his coaches, is following in the footsteps of other Maharashtra athletes who have undertaken the K2K journey.
The event was attended by local sports community members, including Riyaz Wani, President of JKMBA, and ultra-runner Hamid Aziz, highlighting the local support for this remarkable endurance feat.
