JAMMU, June 3: NHPC Limited, India’s premier hydropower company has been awarded ‘Gold Shield’ for the year 2013-14 in the category of ‘Early Completion of Hydro Power Projects’ for Unit -3 (15 MW) of its Nimoo Bazgo Hydro Electric Project, Jammu & Kashmir, at a function held today in Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
DP Bhargava, Director (Technical), NHPC and SK Sandhu, Chief Engineer (I/c), Nimoo Bazgo Power Station, NHPC received the ‘Gold Shield’ on behalf of NHPC from Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Power, Coal and New & Renewable Energy in the presence of PK Pujari, Secretary (Power), Government of India and other senior officers from Ministry of Power and CEA.
The award was given as a part of the Comprehensive Award Scheme for recognizing meritorious performance in Power Sector instituted by Ministry of Power with effect from 2004-05 on the basis of evaluation carried out by Central Electricity Authority (CEA).
