JAMMU, Oct 8: The Army today flagged off a ‘National Integration Tour’ for the female students of the remote and far flung areas of the border district of Rajouri.
‘Paigam-E-Aman Chenab to Yamuna’, a tour for girl students from remote and far flung areas of Rajouri district to Jammu and Delhi was flagged off by Commander Sector Rashtriya Rifles from Manjakote today, Jammu based Defense spokesman Lt Col Manish Mehta said.
The contingent includes 23 girls and two female teachers.
“The tour has been organised by a Rashtriya Rifles Battalion under Romeo Force from October 8 to October 14,” the spokesman said.
During the tour, the students will get an opportunity to visit various prestigious educational institutes and historical monuments in Jammu and Delhi. They will also be interacting with prominent personalities like the Prime Minister and President in Delhi.
“The excitement among the girls was clearly visible as most of them were moving out of the region for the first time,” he said.
