National level photography contest concludes

SAMBA, June 10: Govt Degree College Samba today concluded five days national level photography contest, “Capture the Nature” to mark World Environment Day.
About 100 entries were received for both the categories of still and video photography from the students of various colleges across the country.
The event was organised by Dr Mosmi Raina, Head of Deapartment of Environmental Sciences under the patronage of Prof Sushma Mahajan, Principal of the College.
The aim of the event was to inspire students to appreciate the value of biodiversity and connect with the nature around.
Students enthusiastically participated in the event and captured the mesmerising beauty of nature and captioned it emphatically.
In still photography, 1st position was secured by Mona Andotra of GCW, Kathua, 2nd position was clinched by Kashish Mahajan of Central University of Jammu and 3rd place was claimed by Rahul Singh of GDC, Samba.
Whereas, in video shoot, Ishita Gupta of PG College for Women, Gandhi Nagar secured 1st position while Sachin Kumar of GDC Samba and Aparna Sharma of PG College for Women, Gandhi Nagar secured 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
The jury members for the event were Dr Neeraj Sharma, Head, Institute of Mountaineering and Environment, University of Jammu (Bhaderwah Campus) and Dr Shakha Sharma, Assistant Professor of Zoology, GGM Science College, Jammu.
