National Seminar on Parameters of Higher Edu at Sai Shyam College

JAMMU, Mar 15: A 2-day National Seminar on ‘Higher Education in India: Role Playing Parameters of Excellence’ got underway at Sai Shyam College of Education, Gou Manhasan, here today.
Over 60 students drawn from various Degree Colleges, Colleges of Education and Universities of State and outside participated in the event.
KB Aggarwal, Principal Secretary, Higher Education was the chief guest on the occasion.
Earlier, the programme began with the welcome song presented by the students of the Sai Shyam College.
Dr Usha Tickoo, Principal of the College presented welcome address and highlighted the achievements of the College, besides throwing light on the objectives of the Seminar.
Prof Ashok Aima, Head, Department of Human Resources, Central University Jammu presented the key note address and said that educational institutions should raise the competence of the students to help them compete in the global market.
Prof AG Madhosh, former Head, Department of Education, University of Kashmir said Private Public Partnership should be encouraged, adding that besides knowledge and skill, students should have attitude to work.
Prof Arbind K Jha, Dean School of Education, Head, Department of Teacher Education, Central University (HP) in his address said that knowledge should shift from behaviourism to creativity, while Prof ML Koul, formerly Director IGNOU, New Delhi said that the teachers should have commitment to their jobs.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Prof KL Thussu, former Principal Gandhi Memorial College Srinagar, Prof Ashok Koul, former Principal GDC Reasi, Santosh Kumar, manager Kissan Vidyalaya Nikaspur, Ambedkar Nagar (UP) and delegates from Thailand including U Ven Kondala, Phramaha C Tessai and Chainarong.
The proceedings of the inaugural function were conducted by Nidhi Koul, while Dr JL Raina presented vote of thanks.
Meanwhile, the first technical session was chaired by AG Madhosh and the delegates who presented their papers included BB Raina, Sarojini Saraf, Sunita Kampassi, Usha Raina, Usha Tickoo and Dr JL Raina, while the parallel session was chaired by Prof Arbind K Jha. The second session of the day was chaired by Prof ML Koul, wherein 10 delegates presented their papers, while the second parallel session was chaired by Dr Ashok Koul.
